Inverse conductivity problem with an imperfectly known boundary

چکیده
We show how to eliminate the error caused by an incorrectly modeled boundary in electrical impedance tomography (EIT). In practical measurements, one usually lacks the exact knowledge of the boundary. Because of this the numerical reconstruction from the measured EIT–data is done using a model domain that represents the best guess for the true domain. However, it has been noticed that the inaccurate model of the boundary causes severe errors for the reconstructions. We introduce a new algorithm to find a deformed image of the original isotropic conductivity based on the theory of Teichmüller spaces and implement it numerically. AMS classification: 35J25, 30C75.

The Inverse Conductivity Problem with an Imperfectly Known Boundary in Three Dimensions
We consider the inverse conductivity problem in a strictly convex domain whose boundary is not known. Usually the numerical reconstruction from the measured current and voltage data is done assuming the domain has a known fixed geometry. However, in practical applications the geometry of the domain is usually not known. This introduces an error, and effectively changes the problem into an aniso...

متن کاملThe Linearized Inverse Problem in Multifrequency Electrical Impedance Tomography
This paper provides a mathematical analysis of the linearized inverse problem in multifrequency electrical impedance tomography. We consider the isotropic conductivity distribution with a finite number of unknown inclusions with different frequency dependence, as is often seen in biological tissues. We discuss reconstruction methods for both fully known and partially known spectral profiles, an...

In this paper, we consider an inverse problem of linear heat equation with nonlinear boundary condition. We identify the temperature and the unknown radiation tern from an overspecified condition on the boundary

This paper presents a computational approach to the imaging of a partially immersed imperfectly conducting cylinder. The shape and conductivity of an imperfectly conducting cylinder and scatters is unknown, the transverse magnetic (TM) wave illuminated while the scattered field is recorded outside in free space. Based on the boundary condition and the measured scattered field, a set of nonlinea...
